Oceans & Tidal Waves
You can’t stop the waves, but you can change direction.
Lately, I’ve been wanting to be more fashionable and bring out the creativity more in my appearance. I love to style different pieces for every season. There are times when I play dress-up, try on every clothing items in my closet, and create a stylish look. This outfit was purchased at Forever 21 except the cardigan. I bought that from the thrift store for $4. It took 30 minutes to find out what was I going to wear for this shoot and then it clicked in my spirit, “Be yourself”.
For the past year, I was battling with my difference. When I stand from the crowd, people began to gossip about me. Lie on me. Even accuse me of things that I’m not capable of doing. I tried to change my appearance, the way I talked, and looked to blend in with the waves. Do you know what happened when I attempted to do that? God convicted me and I was even more depressed. How could I tell people to be themselves when I wasn’t being myself? That led me to change my direction and flow through a different stream.
No matter what someone does, say, or think about you, continue to stand out. We were not born to fit in with the world. You can’t stop the waves from coming, but you can change your direction.
